Mrs. Kirstin Hesson

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I was always pretending to teach my stuffed animals and whoever else would listen. When I was old enough, I volunteered as a Sunday School teacher in the 3 year olds and 4 year olds classes at my church for many years.  A fun fact about myself is that I am actually a graduate of the original Hershey Christian School, which I attended from kindergarten through twelfth grade.

I then went on to pursue my love of teaching and children at Lancaster Bible College where I received my Early Childhood Education Degree and a Bible Degree in 2015. After graduation, I taught at Lititz Area Mennonite School for four years until my husband and I started our family. For the last couple of years, I have been blessed to be able to focus on raising our children. I have also been a substitute teacher for HCA.

I am now excited for the opportunity to develop and facilitate the 3-year Old  Program at HCA.  I have a passion for Christian education and teaching my students about God and the world that He has created.  My goal is to create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment to allow my students to grow, and learn, and be who God created them to be!  I look forward to partnering with you to make this a wonderful year of growth and development for your child!

Some of my favorite things include baking, reading, flowers, being outside, and having fun with my family. A Bible verse that has been very impactful to me throughout my life is 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 which says, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
